Yure was my guide during the trip to Peru, and personally drove me from place to place. We didn't spend every day together (I had wanted time to explore alone) but he was there as planned to take me to the places I could not get to alone (such as up to the mountain village of Huilloc).
He was extremely patient and accommodating with me. As a photographer, my goal was to get interesting shots and find real life. I was not his average tourist. I also wanted to visit with a Shaman, and he found me a fantastic one (we had to drive a way to him, and I forget the village name). He went above and beyond. I remember fondly the time we sat on the side of the mountain, and ate the lovely lunch he prepared for us and talked about our lives and loves (John's ears must of been burning on fire).
I respected Yure as a person, businessman and for his philanthropic efforts. His company, Peru Trek 4 Good, is more than just a travel company. Peru Trek 4 Good engages the client in activities in giving back to local communities in Peru. This was a noble concept which I admired and influenced me in choosing this service over others. In my early communications, I expressed an interest in visiting an Orphanage, and Yure was instrumental in setting this up for me.
Yure was obviously well known within the community, he was always greeted with a warm welcome. It was a pleasure to travel with him and now call him my friend.
